Credits pay for variable compute, not seats.
1 Bytespace Credit equals $1 of usage balance. Credit purchases can include a visible platform fee that covers payment processing, usage tracking, routing, spend controls, and provider orchestration.
Storage is pooled, bounded, and controlled by admins.
The seat plan includes a storage allowance for normal workspace artifacts. If a team starts hosting large scientific datasets, bot0 does not silently burn compute credits in the background. Admins choose how to handle the overage.
Each team plan includes pooled storage based on seats. Starter includes 25 GB/seat; Research Team includes 100 GB/seat; Business/Org starts higher.
Admins get warnings before the workspace reaches its storage allowance so a research run does not quietly become a surprise bill.
At the limit, admins choose: upgrade the plan, buy a storage add-on, explicitly pay overages with Bytespace Credits, connect external storage, archive, or delete data.
Very large datasets should move to customer-owned S3/R2/GCS or a Business/Org storage contract instead of default workspace storage.

Researchers with existing provider accounts can connect them and keep direct control of provider spend. BYOK and local compute should not require a Bytespace credit balance.

Storage is not unlimited
Every organization has an isolated hosted backend and a storage allowance. Large datasets and heavy egress require admin approval, external storage, an upgrade, or a custom storage contract.
Enterprise is custom
Digitalization projects, custom research setups, regulated deployments, and self-hosted environments are priced as services plus platform and usage commitments.
